This is a vintage piece of Cousances cast iron cookware. It is a large, #20 oval dutch oven for roasting, but works well for big pots of soup and stews. The Counces foundry began making cast iron pans in 1553. Four centuries later, in 1957, the brand was acquired by. Also called La Doufeu for slow cooking, Made in France, the color is one of the original burnt orange shades. The condition is good, with a few nicks and faint stains.
