Antique Griswold Erie Cast Iron #6 Dutch Oven Pot with Large Slant Logo and matching low dome lid. This hard to find dutch oven has the rare large slant GRISWOLD logo in a cross, ERIE (without quotation marks), the number 6, and 2605. Comes with the rare unmarked, low dome lid without raised Tite-top lettering. Possibly a pre-Griswold lid? There’s no logo on the inside of lid, only a large #6 and smaller 2606 – indicating matching cover for the pot. Lid does not have a logo on the inside. Height with lid & handle: 6 1/2. Diameter at widest: 8 1/8. Base / bottom diameter: 7. Width including side handles: 10 3/16. Weight: approx 6 lb, 7.5 oz. Uncleaned, unrestored, and has not been seasoned. Placed on a glass surface and s. Its flat with a tiny (almost unnoticeable) wobble, and no spin or tilt. Wear consistent with age: scattered pitting and rust and surface marks, rubbing along the top of lid, some utensil scratches around the interior. Base has areas of rust, but all marks are still clear and very legible. No cracks or breaks. Very slight curve / bend to lid handle (when viewed from directly above – see last photo). Wire pail handle in good shape and undamaged. Please see all photos to examine condition and surface details. This dutch oven will be very carefully wrapped, padded, and protected in a sturdy box.
