Good condition Crack Free. The pan sets slightly high in the center. I feel it would be possible to use on glass but it maybe better suited for a conventional coil range top. Again it is slightly igh in the center.

Griswold Large Logo #8, 10-1/2 Smooth Bottom Cast Iron Skillet, #704G, Restored
Here is a dandy of a pan. This skillet features the Large Block style logo and is what they consider a smooth bottom meaning it is absent a heat ring. Smooth bottoms are typically preferred for use on glass tops YES you CAN use a cast iron skillet on a glass top stove, just don’t bang it around or slide it back and forth aggressively. I have been using one on mine for 9 years with NO issues. This skillet has been cleaned via electrolysis and seasoned one time with my own blend of natural beeswax, crisco and olive oil. I have also lightly wiped it down with food grade mineral oil to prevent rusting since the humidity is picking up here in central PA.

Restored Griswold #7 Cast Iron Skillet/Large Block Logo Smooth Bottom (701A)

Griswold large logo #8, 10-1/2, 704 cast iron skillet. There are no cracks, breaks, etc. No specific issues to mention, but old / used / loved, and there may be a casting flaw, scratches, dis colorization, staining, etc. Has not been used since the restoration process. Photos were taken outdoors in natural light and are a big part of the description. Has a slight / even bow that is enough to cause a wobble with it being a smooth bottom. Should be fine on a gas stove or camp, but don’t recommend for glass. I’ve restored hundreds of pieces of cast iron cookware. All go through lye to remove any crud, organic material, seasoning, etc. Then I run them through the electrolysis process to remove any corrosion, rust, impurities, etc. They are scrubbed by hand using dish liquid, stainless steel scouring pads, stainless steel brushes, and magic erasers under cold water to bring them back to the bare metal finish. Finally, all pieces are run through three rounds of seasoning using vegetable shortening. Cast iron cookware will last hundreds of years and generations if properly taken care of. These are beautiful, heirloom quality pieces made right here in the USA. Will be bubble wrapped and surrounded by packing material to ensure that they don’t shift in transit. They are not making cookware like this anymore, and I would consider it tragic if anything were to happen to these in transit. It does have utensil marks that will even out with use. It is free of cracks and chips. It does have movement at 12:00 and levels out with three business cards.
